Against Her Will (A Mystery Suspense Novel) by Peter Martin

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am finding it very hard to write this review. This book was difficult to read, not because it was written poorly, but because the subject was hard. Rape is a difficult subject to face for anyone, the writer did a great job of describing the aftermath of what Donna goes through. I’m sure lots of victims go through the same life turmoil of never wanting to go out in public, or feeling as though the rest of the world is looking at them as they did something wrong. I loved how she developed the friendships with Evan and his family. It was only that this part dragged on for way to much of the book that bothered me. When she finally realizes that she can move on, the book zooms into hyper speed and then it is over. It seemed very rushed at the end.

Hunted (Hostage Rescue Team Series Book 3) by Kaylea Cross

Kaylea did it again!! The HRT series is one of my favorites. Bauer and Zoe both come from broken backgrounds and find each other to bring them back 'alive'. The heat the Kaylea brings to the pages with these two is amazing. I loved how they grew into their relationship. Of course when Zoe tries to help Leticia flee her abusive BF, Zoe lands in a heap of trouble that only the HRT can get her out of and when all hell breaks loose, Bauer realizes that she is the one. Only Kaylea can bring it like she does in this series, cannot wait to read the next book and see who she pairs up.

Dangerous Surrender (The Serafina: Sin City Series Book 4) by Katie Reus

LOVED this installment of the Sarafina series. I really liked how Katie brought a total outsider into the mix with this book. Taylor was friends with Vadim, but was not mentioned in any of the previous books. She runs into trouble at her job where she is a tech genius and sees her boss/mentor get murdered. When she turns to Vadim for help, he sends in Roman, another hot sexy security team member that works for Wyatt Christiansen. Let’s just say things get hotter from there and of course there is plenty of suspense as only Katie can write. No spoilers here, read the book to get the details. You will not regret it!

Alex: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel (Carolina Cold Fury Hockey) by Sawyer Bennett

Major hockey fan here and Sawyer scored a hat trick on this one. Loved how she took a star that hates the game and a girl that knows nothing and puts them together and makes it work. Alex was a real ass, and needed a serious attitude adjustment so his team’s management threw him into this community project that paired him up with Sutton. She was totally into her job and could care less that he was a famous hockey star, until she started to get to know the real him. The totally hotness that is Alex is not something that is pushing her off either. It was fun to read about Sutton learning about the game. I loved how her family took in Alex and treated him like any other normal person, except for her brother of course. And I loved how Alex took to Sutton’s brother and treated him like he was something special. This book was really great and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2.

A Very Corporate Affair, Book 1 (The Corporate Series) by D Latham

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I must say that I was honestly surprised that this book took me in so good. It was slow to start, but it quickly sucked me in and I finished in a day! I love that D A Latham has the female as the strong willed, smart and made something of herself in this book. She was not just a stand by and let the world take advantage of her. The three men were all special in their own way, James became her best friend and confidant, Oscar her ‘strange’ lover, and Ivan just wants to be her everything. As I read on, I was surprised by the secrets that were revealed and the GIANT cliffhanger… I am so One-Clicking book 2 right now!!!

Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

I was not expecting to get sucked into this book at all. I could not put it down until I finished it, actually woke up at 4 in the morning and finished it off. This book was written from both Greta and Elec's perspective and I think that made it that much better. That alone gives the reader the feeling of both as the story is happening. I cried and cried at points in this book, my heart broke for both Greta and Elec. There were scenes where I hated Elec and where I wanted him to be the hero. I was totally not expecting the ending to turn out the way it did, and I am very surprised and pleased that it did!

Running From the Past by Katie Reus

First off I have to say that I love Katie Reus. That will not sway my review in any way. This is the kind of book that once you start, you finish in one sitting. Yes, it is that good and just the right length to accomplish. Katie has a knack of pulling you in with a suspense, then adding that tug of war romance, and killing it with a happy ending. In Running From the Past, she manages to get it all in in 108 pages! Really, who doesn’t love an ex-Marine that works on a ranch and has the bod to prove it! And he falls in love with the ‘perfect’ girl who secretly needs his help from an evil ex that is after her for witnessing a gruesome act. The perfect plot, with just enough romance/sex and violence.
